Job Description
Python Engineer
Leeds (2 days in the office)
Salary and Benefits: £52,912- £66,140 salary, plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Where will this role sit?

What will I do?

  • Aim to deliver the highest quality customer-driven software.
  • Work in cross-disciplinary teams, showcasing your excellent interpersonal and communication skills whilst efficiently working to ensure software operates as intended.
  • Grows our technical capabilities by pursuing and investing time in personal development opportunities.
  • Identify shortcomings and areas for improvement of existing processes and systems.
What we’re looking from you……
  • Strong Python skills
  • A constant willingness to pick up new skills
  • Experience with agile development methods & tooling
  • Experience of using modern software development toolsets including DevOps, Continuous Integration and Delivery
  • Be UK-based and able to visit our offices in Leeds at a minimum of twice per month for scheduled team meetings
  • A great understanding of OOP, software engineering principles, unit testing and common software design patterns
What are the nice to haves?
  • Cloud experience, Google Cloud Platform/Azure/AWS
  • DevOps pipelines with Nexus, SonarQube
  • Experience with Jenkins and Chef
  • Containers at scale: Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, Istio etc.
  • Experience and understanding of microservices and API Gateways
  • Experience of transformation of batch processing to real-time processing
